About Us

The Shillelagh Club was founded in February of 1964 by a group of men in Old Bridge, New Jersey who petitioned Jackie Gleason for the use of the name and he graciously agreed. Over the years FSOS has grown to 4 locations: Old Bridge, Essex County, Jersey Shore and Ocean County. While the migration of Northerners to South Carolina took place, a small group of Irish Americans joined together and petitioned the Father Club for a charter here in South Carolina. The Father Club in Old Bridge granted a charter to our organization in June of 2022, becoming the 5th location here in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
